Casual Villainry Excerpt – An Immortal

An Immortal (Private)

Name: Ryker Caradoc

Position: Founder of the End All project

Cycle: 0

Subject: The perfect vessel I

Hello,

As promised, this is the second message which was prepared as a reward for your effort in overcoming my security measures. Understandably, the first message may have been a disappointment for a good many of you. Events of the past are, after all, inconsequential as our success requires that we continue forward. Once that success is achieved, things like motivation will no longer mean a thing. Thus, this message will more directly aid the cause at hand. Here, I shall provide details on my most promising project, one I did not have the time to see to completion.

I have no doubt in my mind that you will have already uncovered the substance to which this entry will refer. A substance which I have encased within my own skull, likely to be extracted upon the discovery of my corpse. This substance is the result of a project which I simple titled ‘R’, an attempt at creating a living entity capable of bringing about our sought destruction. A path I had initially discounted due to the theoretical absurdity of creating a living entity capable of containing and wielding the necessary amount of potential energy for the task. The best-case scenario for such an entity would be for it to eradicate the universe over time, meaning they would certainly end up in a direct conflict with the Arahant. From the outlook, such a concept seemed an inevitable dead end.

That is, until I recalled the existence of amorphous entities, rare forms of life which have been observed on but a handful of worlds. Little more than sentient goo, though assuredly natural creatures despite their vexing nature. I had thought that they had little value past their rarity before beginning this project but their malleable nature and regenerative traits are perfect vessels for power. If the primary issue is that no body could handle the required amount of energy, we simply need to create one which doesn’t have to. Even if there is instability and it blows apart, it can just piece itself back together again until it adapts. Eventually, inevitably, it would become the destroyer, the solution we’ve been looking for.

This process requires more than just taking a slime and charging it up, however. It needs to have the capacity for intelligence, something which very few amorphous entities have. The substance which is/was inside of my brain is my solution, my slime. It is not currently sentient, as of my death it will still be a mere symbiotic entity which has absorbed the neurons in my brain. By my design, through analyzing my mental processes prior to my death, it should be capable of emulating them with some aid.

My death was necessary to bring project R to the next stage. Your task now is to help it undergo self-realization, an understanding of its ‘form’. Once it understands its state of existence, it should begin becoming more intellectually capable. You will raise project R, teach it what it needs to know to fulfil its task, all the while feeding it until it is powerful enough to succeed. There is no guarantee that it will but, for this project which I initially deemed impossible, I have high hopes. I would ask they you allow it to reach its potential if you are capable.

I thank you for your co-operation in this endeavour and wish you success in your experiments.
